Thursday 30th April 2015...

tomorrow is the first day of May, that means Comrades is here, waiting for us, ready to teach us lessons we need to learn, showing us what we can be, ready to crush us or carry us along the road from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.  on the 31st May at 05:30 alongside approximately 18,000 runners I will set off from the town hall in Durban on route to PMB. the journey began many, many months ago or even years ago, a thought, a dream,  a comment from a friend about this famous race legendary for both its distance and cutoffs. but before we get there we must qualify...

Keep my motorcycle or not?

Should I or should I not keep my scooter. Since I bought it in May 2013 I've done about 250 miles on it. It's doesn't take a lot to run and it's cheap to insure. Let's see how many times this summer I use it then decide.

Tuesday legs

Didn't appear after Manchester, haven't appeared following this weekends runs, interesting!

Zen and A to Z

Zen and the Art of Consciousness A to Z A to Z http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lauren-stahl/love-yourself_b_7003690.html?utm_hp_ref=moments-not-milestones

finished the day with 17 miles

went out the door at 18:00, ran around Newport then back home for more water and gels, when out and did another 6 miles and called it a night, short on the miles but long on the smiles, so its a win in my book.

What to do today..

Today's run is slated as a 28 miler!  The challenge is finding a suitable route, where I can refill water bottles along route, I don't want to repeat the cardiff run I did yesterday, the Taff trail and Brecon Monmouthshire canal don't really have places I can get water on route so I'm currently thinking about some loops around home this not only give me opportunity to refill but adds the extra head work of running loops. Let's see what happens.

Ran to the rugby

I ran to cardiff yesterday from home. The distance was a little over 15 miles, a quick wet wipe wash in John Lewis and a change of clothes and I was off to the millenium stadium to watch the rugby. I really enjoy running to a destination rather than an out and back.

so what does running 7000 Miles look like?

So I went and I ran.  my earlier plans to run sub 4 got derailed earlier in the year, but this was still a good run a great confidence booster on route to Comrades. Finished 4:45.59 my fastest marathon for a while.  Meat for dinner the night before. 2 boiled eggs and a piece of bacon for breakfast 1.5 to 2 hours before race, half a banana about 30 mins before the gun.  The route was farliy interesting, quite a few out and backs it seemed but some great course support.
